Nutrition + exercise = healing and prevention.

Nutrition and exercise is my chosen treatment plan for health & happiness. Insulin + CGM are a big deal for general management of diabetes that I am fortunate to have access to. And still, I would be nothing without my lifestyle choices.

In fact, I may not be here at all.

The underlying pain and struggle a PWD may have with food and their body cannot be cured by rapid weight loss. We cannot swallow the pain away no matter how glamorous the short-term fix appears. Despite physical changes that we want to feel successful about, struggle can persist in our mental and emotional health.

Our lifestyle choices help us to meet our fears head-on and that is where change happens. Overcoming years of frustration takes time and being healthy is a daily effort. Maintaining health is a lifelong marathon and we'll never know how long we've got left. Once I accepted that the most important lessons in my life came with struggle, is when I acted on the changes that I needed to make. And thank goodness that I did.

All I know for sure, is that I won't waste one second regretting the time I've spent sweating in the studio. Nor will I regret the many years of high-fiber, plant-based meals, that give me the energy to heal. Nutrition + exercise = healing and prevention.

It’s all connected—food, movement, medication, happiness…

Insulin sensitivity is important for us all and it cannot be encapsulated. Our bodies are capable of amazing things and until we attempt to use food and movement to sensitize our system, we may not realize how close healthy changes actually are.
